Abstract
⺠We examine the impact of fertiliser and harvest time on the ash melting of Miscanthus x giganteus. ⺠Fusion temperatures of ash from leaves increase over September to March. ⺠Fusion temperatures in stems/whole crop ashes appear to decrease over September to March. ⺠Wt% K2O in ash correlates with temperature of ash melting from the ash fusion test. ⺠Endotherm minimum temperature from DTA correlates with hemisphere temperature.
