Abstract
► We examine the impact of fertiliser and harvest time on the ash melting of Miscanthus x giganteus. ► Fusion temperatures of ash from leaves increase over September to March. ► Fusion temperatures in stems/whole crop ashes appear to decrease over September to March. ► Wt% K2O in ash correlates with temperature of ash melting from the ash fusion test. ► Endotherm minimum temperature from DTA correlates with hemisphere temperature.
