Abstract
⺠Novel anthracene oil pitches produce cokes with highly oriented microstructures. ⺠Less polymerized pitches required the use of pressure. ⺠Microstructure was improved by controlling reaction conditions. ⺠Less polymerized pitches led to cokes with more oriented microstructures.
