Abstract
⺠Coal was developed as a new non-noble metal cathode catalyst in a PEFC. ⺠Four ranks of coals were determined for the oxygen reduction reaction. ⺠Effects of ammonia-treatment of coals and iron addition were studied. ⺠Proposed active species of the coal-derived electrocatalysts for a high ORR activity.
