Abstract
► We have developed a 3D transient model for the simulation of fixed bed biomass combustion. ► This model is compared with data obtained in an experimental combustor. ► The solid-gas interaction is solved within the model, allowing a deep interrelation between the phases. ► The strong dependence between reaction front propagation and bed stoichiometry is captured.
