Abstract
► A CaO/bio-based sorbent is developed with high calcium conversion and small attrition fraction. ► The biomass acts as a dispersion medium to prevent agglomeration of the lime particles. ► The biomass and lime produces hydrated calcium silicate. ► Biomass ash melting rearranges the lime structure. ► The small attrition fraction is related to the high SiO2 and K2O fractions in the biomass.
