Abstract
► The behavior of ethanol blended fuels is studied in Diesel and Low Temperature Combustion. ► The weak ignitability of the ethanol blends requires an engine settings optimization. ► High oxygen content of such fuels allows smoke levels and NOx emissions reductions. ► These fuels lead to an extended LTC operating range and improved maximum power output.
