Abstract
► PtSn, PtSnRu and PtSnOs were prepared by liquid crystalline templating technique. ► Their activities for ethanol oxidation were examined. ► Tin oxide in PtSnRu and PtSnOs reduced their particle sizes and hindered Pt sites. ► PtSnRu and PtSnOs promoted ethanol oxidation better than PtSn. ► PtSnOs gave the best activity for ethanol oxidation.
