Abstract
► O2 and H2O2 reduction by 1,2-diferrocenylethane at a liquid/liquid interface. ► Reaction points to a proton-coupled electron transfer mechanism. ► DFcE facilitates proton transfer. ► Main reaction product is DFcE+, which can further reduce oxygen to form DFcE2+. ► Hydrogen peroxide reduction faster than oxygen reduction.
