Abstract
► The electrooxidation behavior of lutein was investigated for the first time. ► The electrochemical quantitative determination method of lutein was established. ► The electrooxidation mechanism of lutein was inferred. ► The method can be applied to discrimination and qualitative detection of carotenoids. ► The proposed method has been successfully applied in the real sample analysis.
