Abstract
► Nonlinear solvation effects on electrode kinetics are examined using Matyushov model. ► Different solvent force constants in the oxidized and reduced forms are considered. ► Nonlinear solvation leads to curved, asymmetric Tafel and curved Randles-Sevcik plots. ► The evaluation of these effects is possible from Butler-Volmer transfer coefficient. ► Cyclic voltammetry of diffusional and surface-attached redox couples is analyzed.
