Abstract
In this work, the efficiency and mechanism of denitration were investigated by bamboo charcoal (BC), which was modified by high-temperature treatment. The influencing factors of the denitration efficiency, including the heating temperature, N2 protection atmosphere, and oxidation treatment by H2O2 were also investigated. The simultaneous removal efficiencies of NO and NO2 by the modified BC were up to 57.3% and 71.1%, twice as the original sample. The optimal condition is heat treatment at 1000 °C under the protection of N2 atmosphere without H2O2 oxidation treatment. It can be concluded that the graphite carbon, CO and −COO groups decompose in the experiment while the nitrogen-containing functional groups are generated, which enhanced the denitration efficiency. This study has the advantages of low technical demand and low-cost, fitting for industrial denitration applications.
