Abstract
⺠A reaction progress variable description for non-ideal multiphase explosives is developed. ⺠The formulation is unique - a reaction progress variable for fully compressible, multiphase flows. ⺠The particle level model agrees well with data over a range of pressure and oxygen environments. ⺠System level simulations show good agreement well with shock pressure data. ⺠A key finding is the existence of an equivalence ratio that optimizes specific impulse.
