Abstract
- Subcritical water hydrolysis was effective to recover sugars from sugarcane bagasse.
- Reaction temperature showed an important effect on total reducing sugars yield.
- The highest yield (15.5%) was obtained at 200 °C and 12.5 mL minâ1.
- Disrupts in the cell walls (high temperature) were confirmed by FESEM analyses.
- DRIFTS of the residual solids confirmed the removal of hemicellulose during hydrolysis.
