Abstract
- Fabrication of polymer filled micro-containers for oral drug delivery.
- A customized drug loading can be obtained by supercritical impregnation at different temperature, pressure and time.
- The replacement of inkjet printing of PVP solution, with manual deposition of PVP powder in the microcontainers does not compromise the accuracy in the drug loading.
- SEM imaging and an innovative use of X-ray microtomography display the change of polymer morphology after supercritical impregnation.
- Fitting of Raman spectra of impregnated micro-matrices show enhanced drug-polymer interactions compared to drug-polymer physical mixtures with same drug concentrations.
