Abstract

- Avocado oil and capsanthin from red bell pepper were extracted with scCO2.
- Simultaneous extraction of both (oil and capsanthin) in CO2 was done.
- Avocado oil served as a co-solvent to CO2 and increased the recovery of capsanthin.
- The recovery of avocado oil and capsanthin was of 84% and 55%, respectively.
- The use of avocado oil as co-solvent of CO2 increases the recovery of capsanthin of 15-56%.
