Abstract
- New methods have been developed for determination of surfactant solubility in scCO2 and surfactant partitioning between scCO2 and brine.
- 2-EH-PO5-EOx solubility in scCO2 increases with pressure and decreases with temperature.
- The partitioning of the surfactants between scCO2 and brine modestly increases with pressure and decreases with increasing temperature.
- There is no significant salinity effect on surfactant partitioning under tested conditions.
- Solubility and partitioning of surfactants determines CO2 foam/emulsion process performance in subsurface applications.
