Abstract
⺠We investigated the capability of high pressure CO2 jets for cutting applications. ⺠Pre-expansion pressures up to 1600 bar were realized. ⺠Post-expansion conditions are above the triple-point pressure of CO2. ⺠Material samples such as wood, aluminum and polycarbonate could be penetrated. ⺠Impact increases dramatically using elevated pressure downstream the nozzle.
