Abstract
⺠The simulation and optimization of supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of St. John's Wort was investigated. ⺠A model that accounts for both particle and fluid phase was applied. ⺠The model was solved numerically and was successfully validated with experimental data. ⺠The equilibrium constant of extract between solid and solvent phase was determined using genetic algorithm. ⺠The model was found to predict well the experimental data and optimum T and P are 313 K and 20 MPa.
