Abstract
â¶ The manuscript presents a mechanistic model to describe experimental data of overall extraction curves. â¶ The model was tested against experimental data obtained for khoa leaves at LASEFI/DEA/FEA/UNICAMP. â¶ The model qualitatively described the behavior of the extraction system with respect to the major factors affecting SFE, thus, it can safely be used for scale-up studies. â¶ In spite of the mathematical modeling not be a novelty by itself it does corroborates new experimental results on scale-up we obtained (Prado et al, 2010: doi:10.1016/j.supflu.2010.10.036) and describes quite well the original experimental data.
