Abstract
â¶ Increasing hout beyond 100Â W/m2Â K does not have a considerable impact on the temperature profile along the reactor. â¶ Pressure and external temperature have a small effect on the heating time constant of the SCW reactor; however, they may dramatically change the residence time in these reactors. â¶ The heating length strongly depends on the flow rate. â¶ A semi-theoretical model for calculating the heating time constant of a SCW reactor is proposed. Using this equation, the heating time and heating length of SCW reactors can be obtained.
