Adaptive mesh refinement for two-phase slug flows with an a priori indicator

► We implemented a novel approach for mesh refinement for two phase slug flows. ► A global estimator with a local indicator predicted good slug frequencies. ► The implementation of the approach does not require any reconstruction method. ► AMR technique presented here enhanced the performances for pipes in bumpy terrains.
