Abstract
⺠The functioning of clay binders in pelletised chromite pre-reduction was studied. ⺠Binder performance in oxidising and reducing environments were found to be vital. ⺠Higher clay contents resulted in lower chromite pre-reduction levels. ⺠Clay selection influenced chromite pre-reduction achieved.
