Abstract
This paper examines the calibration of friction coefficients considering up-scaled particles in the angle of repose (AoR) test using a lifting cylinder. The AoR and the selection of the friction coefficient are affected by particle size for high lifting velocities, while they are invariant of the particle size for very low lifting velocities. This invariance of the AoR and the selection of the friction coefficient is confirmed by a second shear angle test under high dynamical flow.365
