CFD modeling and analysis of the fish-hook effect on the rotor separator's efficiency

The paper simulates a third generation dynamic separator based on Fluent CFD models. The predicted and the industrial selectivity curves are in good agreement. Results showed the occurrence of the fish-hook effect in the dynamic separator which is due to the reversal flow and the bubble-type vortex breakdown in the separating chamber.
