Abstract
⺠Particle dispersal by blast waves is studied by modeling and simulations. ⺠Unsteady force and heating contributions are dominant at early times. ⺠Neglecting unsteady contributions leads to significant errors in particle motion. ⺠Particle motion is a non-monotonic function of particle density or diameter. ⺠Evolution of particle concentration is non-uniform and strongly unsteady.
