Abstract
This shows the calculated factors of degree (F) during semi-solid powder rolling. The physical meanings of these factors are the progress remarkability of solidification, deformation and deformation at every step during the rolling procedure, respectively. When the contact arc is 16.2°, Fsolidif is higher than the other two factors, so solidification is more remarkable and occurs quickly in this period compared with that of others. Afterward, the factors of deformation and densification become higher. And they are always higher than Fsolidif because there is no solidification procedure at last. Fdensi and Fdefor almost have the same trend and they change simultaneously. Based on the factors, solidification is more significant in the material supplying region and drag-in region while densification and deformation are much remarkable in the densification region.
