The charging efficiency and flow dynamics of micropowder during jet milling/electrostatic dispersion

We developed a new method for the preparation of micropowder by combining jet milling and electrostatic dispersion. An apparatus of jet milling/electrostatic dispersion system was designed and manufactured in our study. The effects of preparation parameters on the charging efficiency (expressed by the charge to mass ratio q/m) of the powder are investigated, and the flow dynamics of the particles under this coupled condition in the chamber is simulated based on the measurement of q/m above. The research indicates that the combined process is effective in powder pulverization and dispersion.
