Abstract
The critical pipe diameter for funnel flow at active state of stress can be reliably predicted by the method of Johanson if the anisotropic behaviour is taken into account. The critical pipe diameters calculated with two new methods are compared with results of the previous method and the experimental results measured with the silo centrifuge.
