Abstract
The influence of binder content, fineness of fine coke and deformation rate on the compaction behavior and final density of binder matrix and anode paste was studied. For the range of deformation rates used in this study, densification of binder matrix and anode paste is not a time dependent process. Pitch to coke ratio is an important parameter determining the compaction behavior.
