Abstract
⺠Phenomenological 1D and fundamental 2D modelling approaches are compared. ⺠A wide range of operating conditions under bubbling fluidization was investigated. ⺠The 1D model was found to be very sensitive to various closure laws. ⺠The best performing closure laws performed well against the fundamental model. ⺠The 1D model response to changes in particle size requires further study.
