Abstract
⺠We explain the mechanism by which clumps of powders disperse on liquid surfaces. ⺠Capillary force pulls the particles of a clump into the interface. ⺠Newly adsorbed particles move away because of the flow they induce. ⺠Monolayer of particles clusters later because of lateral capillary forces.
