Abstract
⺠An optimal particle loading is found to exist. ⺠The optimal particle loading increases with temperature and Reynolds number. ⺠The optimal particle loading increases as the length-to-diameter ratio decreases. ⺠The optimal particle loading depends very little on the average particle size. ⺠The optimal particle loading depends much more on liquid phase than on solid phase.
