Abstract
⺠Experimental investigations in a vertical channel filled with a metal foam. ⺠Fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics studied for a range of parameters. ⺠Foams made of copper and aluminium, 10 to 30 mm thick, used in the studies. ⺠Correlation developed for average Nusselt number. âºÂ Foams seen to give high thermal performance for a small increase of pressure drop.
