Abstract
► Effect of external magnetic field on atherosclerotic plaque temperature is investigated. ► An advanced coupled FEM-FVM algorithm is used to determine temperature distribution. ► The calculations are performed under the pulsatile inlet blood flow. ► Applying horizontal component of magnetic field in negative direction can reduce temperature heterogeneity of plaque. ► Applying magnetic field can lessen the chance of rupture due to fatigue.
