Abstract
⺠Effect of external magnetic field on atherosclerotic plaque temperature is investigated. ⺠An advanced coupled FEM-FVM algorithm is used to determine temperature distribution. ⺠The calculations are performed under the pulsatile inlet blood flow. ⺠Applying horizontal component of magnetic field in negative direction can reduce temperature heterogeneity of plaque. ⺠Applying magnetic field can lessen the chance of rupture due to fatigue.
