Abstract
► The metallic porous block subjected to a confined turbulent slot jet is investigated numerically. ► A three-dimensional mathematical model, developed using incompressible turbulent Navier-Stokes equations are solved. ► Heat transfer enhancement with metallic porous block is found over the studied ranges. ► The impinging cooling performance can be effectively improved by employing the metallic porous block.
