Abstract
⺠Transient forced convection from a cylinder embedded in a porous medium is examined. ⺠In general, the presence of the porous medium enhances considerably the heat transfer. ⺠Fluid Nusselt number Nf increases with increasing kr using the 1-equation energy model. ⺠However, its trend with kr is governed by Biot number Bi using the 2-equation model. ⺠The increase in Bi deceases Nf and increases Ns, and high kr and Bi lead to the LTE state.
