Abstract
⺠Influence of flow structure on heat transfer was investigated. ⺠Vorticity was produced by vortex generators in a static mixer. ⺠Global heat transfer is correlated with circulation of the streamwise vortices. ⺠In field synergy analysis, θ alone is not sufficient for heat transfer analysis. ⺠Entropy production number is appropriate for classification of heat exchangers.
