► Residential buildings constitute one of the largest demands for electricity. ► Air-conditioning places a large demand upon the central electrical system. ► The viability of eliminating electricity draws during peak periods is examined. ► Half the goal can be realized through design changes and operational measures. ► The remaining demand can be eliminated using PV and battery systems.
