Abstract
⺠Design wind loads are based on past records; no climate change is included. ⺠Climate models provide â1% to +4% change of the annual maximum daily mean wind speed. ⺠This effect would imply a change of â0.8% to +2.3% for building codes values. ⺠Climate scenarios should also focus on extreme events with small time scales. ⺠The natural variability of wind has a great effect on wind trends.
