Abstract
Cylindrical structures consisted of functionally graded materials (FGMs) are frequently used in various engineering applications in the modern aerospace, marine, nuclear and military industries, automotive industries, etc. This paper reviews most of the researches done in recent years (2005-2015) on FGM cylindrical structures with an emphasis on coupled mechanics, including thermo-elastic coupling, multi-physic fields coupling, structure-foundation coupling and fluid-solid coupling. The main aim of this review article is to collate the research performed in the area of coupled mechanics on FGM cylindrical structures during the last 10 years, thereby giving a broad perspective of the state of art in this field.
