Abstract
► A second order nonlocal traffic flow model with nonlocal relaxation was derived. ► Nonlocal hydrodynamic model was derived accordingly. ► The phase transition with F → S, and S → J was reproduced. ► The catch effect of synchronized flow was also revealed.
