Abstract
⺠An efficient algorithm is described for lubrication theory of a yield-stress fluid. ⺠We calculate how a yield stress arrests the motion of a journal bearing. ⺠We provide solutions for viscoplastic slider bearings and blade coating. ⺠The vertical motion of a plate dragged over a fluid layer is found to be unstable.
