Abstract
⺠The power-law fluid flows over a pair of confined elliptical tandem cylinders were modeled. ⺠The aspect ratio of cylinders as well as their distance were taken as geometrical variables. ⺠The effects of fluid flow parameters (Re, Pr, n) on drag and heat transfer are examined. ⺠By using shear-thinning fluids, heat transfer is maximized while minimizing the drag. ⺠The elliptical cylinders with aspect ratio less than one show higher heat transfer rate compared to the circular one.
