Abstract
A new solution for analyzing of the symmetrical composite plate having two parallel edges simply supported and the remaining parallel edges being clamped (SS-C-SS-C plate) subjected to linear-varying in-plane loads is presented. Levy series are used to represent the displacement field of the plate and a numerical procedure is developed based upon finite-difference method. Convergence study is carried out as well. The proposed method has been validated for both isotropic and composite plates with various aspect ratios and load parameters through numerical examples.
