Abstract
This paper describes a method of determining the dynamic Young's modulus of concrete by measuring the eigenfrequency. In the introduction, reference is made to the findings reported by other researchers in this field. As part of this study, laboratory tests on 24 beam elements (differing in their reinforcement ratios and concrete mixes) were carried out using operational modal analysis. The results of dynamic and static tests carried out on concrete cylinders are compared. Conclusions and recommendations concerning the determination of the dynamic Young's modulus are formulated.
