Abstract
Study with phase Doppler anemometer shows that superficial gas velocity covering turbulent and fast fluidization regimes has a larger effect on descending particles at the wall and on ascending particles in the central region. Transition from slow to fast particle transversal movement is accompanied by a transition to high levels of velocity fluctuations, corresponding to the appearance of significant solid particle flow rate.
