Abstract
⺠DEM vs. experiment analysis of the filling and discharge processes in a bin is highlighted. ⺠A granular aggregate was represented by 20,400 pea grains. ⺠Real material properties were established experimentally at the micro and bulk levels. ⺠DEM model with rolling friction provided accurate prediction of wall stress and outflow parameter.
