Abstract
The research study herein described aimed at developing a statistical model using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to predict the performance of self-compacting ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) reinforced with hybrid steel fibers. The adopted regression model provided an excellent correlation between considered variables and obtained responses. A numerical optimization was then performed to obtain a self-compacting mixture with the highest flexural strength and simultaneously with the minimum content of steel fibers. The use of 1.75Â vol. (%) hybrid steel micro-fiber can be considered as the most appropriate percentage to be employed in UHPC mixtures to meet the threshold value of self-compacting criteria.
