Abstract
Mixing and segregation of a binary particle system in a rotating drum with “-”, “+” or “*” baffles were simulated, showing that mixing quality in baffled drum is better than that in unbaffled drum regardless of baffle shape and size. For “+” or “*” baffles, there is an optimal baffle size for the mixing of particles, and the optimal mixing efficiency is higher than that for “-” baffle.
