Abstract
⺠Simultaneous loading and corrosion cause a beam to exceed its limiting deflection. ⺠Simultaneous loading and corrosion impair beam strength and ductility more greatly. ⺠Local corrosion of tensile bar decreases beam strength and ductility more rapidly. ⺠Corroded beams under service loads collapse in a less ductile or even brittle way.
